Temperatures range between 0°C and 8°C (32°F - 46°F), but it can feel even colder, especially at night. What to pack? ✔ A warm, waterproof jacket (snow and windproof is a must). ✔ Layer up! Thermal shirts, fleece sweaters, and comfy pants. ✔ Gloves, a scarf, and a beanie to keep you warm. ✔ Waterproof shoes or boots (ideal for snow or rainy days). ✔ Sunglasses & sunscreen (yes, even in winter! The snow reflects sunlight).
How to Get to Bariloche 📍
For your convenience, a private van will be waiting for you at the airport to take you straight to your hotel—so no need to worry about transportation when you arrive! Bariloche’s international airport (BRC) has daily flights from Buenos Aires and other cities in Argentina. You can also reach Bariloche by long-distance bus or take an epic road trip on the famous Route 40, which offers some of the most breathtaking landscapes in Patagonia. Currency Exchange & Payments in Argentina 💵
Argentina has a unique currency system, so here are some key tips: Cash or card? Bringing USD in cash can get you a better exchange rate at local exchange houses or with trusted tourism operators. If you pay with an international credit card, your purchases will likely be processed at the MEP rate, which is also a good deal. Tipping isn’t mandatory, but it's common to leave around 10% at restaurants.
Connectivity & SIM Cards 📱
If you're visiting from abroad, you can buy a prepaid SIM card at the airport or at stores like Claro, Movistar, or Personal. This way, you’ll have internet access everywhere you go! Most cafés, hotels, and restaurants also offer free WiFi, so you’ll always have a way to stay connected.
